Confession time. I was woefully unprepared for two dogs. I thought, how hard could it be? I'm already picking up poop from one dog. Funny, when I added the second child to the mix I don't recall it being this challenging. But 1+1 does not equal 2. However, there is so much love, joy, and laughter every day I would not change a thing. Is it work? Of course. Time? God yes. A major line item in the budget? YES.
But I love having them around. There is no price on having them run up to greet me when I get home, throwing the ball around in the backyard, or seeing them cuddled up with the kids. I grew up with a Newfoundland and always found comfort and security in big dogs. Both of our current dogs are rescues, Isla is a Great Dane mix and Ellis is a white lab. No contest on who sheds more. (Robot Vacuum arriving soon - more info to come).
With two technically puppies (YIKES) I had a quick learning curve and had to figure out fast how to keep my home shipshape and stay sane. Head over to the shop tab for some of my favorites, but I'll talk about them here.
Blue Air Purifier - I swear you wouldn't know we have dogs. I know there are a ton of purifiers out there, but this one seriously grabs all the crap in the air and the cover is washable.
Dog Waste Garbage Can - I like things to look nice. I like the yard to be clean. And everyone knows it's a million times easier to pick up the poop than it is to wash your dogs feed or the floor after they step in poop. This little garbage can keeps flies out, the smell in, and is just the right size.
Metal Dog Toy Bin - Dogs like to chew. It's my mission in life to ensure my Crate and Barrel furniture does not become a chew toy. Do they have a lot of toys? Yes. Is it cheaper than replacing furniture? Yes. Did they eat the first two toy bins? They sure did.
